Cadet Officer Ranks

Cadet Colonel

Three diamonds

Battalion Commander - Highest cadet rank, responsible for overall battalion operations and leadership.

Cadet Lieutenant Colonel

Two diamonds

Executive Officer - Second in command, assists the Battalion Commander in all operations.

Cadet Major

One diamond

Staff Officer - Typically serves as S-3 (Operations Officer) or other key staff positions.

Cadet Captain

Three circles

Company Commander - Commands a company of cadets, responsible for company-level operations.

Cadet First Lieutenant

Two circles

Executive Officer - Assists the Company Commander, may lead platoons.

Cadet Second Lieutenant

One circle

Platoon Leader - Commands a platoon, entry-level officer position.

Cadet Enlisted Ranks

Cadet Command Sergeant Major

Senior enlisted advisor to the Battalion Commander, highest enlisted rank.

Cadet Sergeant Major

Senior enlisted leader at battalion or company level.

Cadet First Sergeant

Cadet Master Sergeant

Cadet Staff Sergeant

Promotion Requirements

General Requirements:

  • • Maintain satisfactory academic performance
  • • Show proficiency in drill and ceremonies
  • • Complete required time in current rank
  • • Pass written and practical examinations
